Telford Crime Prevention Panel

Are you of pensionable age?

Are you happy with the quality of your door and window locks?

Would you like a door-chain or door viewer fitted?

TCPP has been working with Telford Police for over 10 years in the fight against crime. One of their initiatives is Security for the Elderly: This is a FREE lock fitting service offered to elderly residents (ladies aged 60+ and gentlemen aged 65+) within the Telford & Wrekin Area.

Madeley Parish Council has formed a partnership with TCPP to enable more of this crime prevention work to take place in our parish.

If you think you could benefit from this scheme (or you know someone who might) contact Sgt Wigley-Smith on Telford 290888 ext 5480 or PC F Jones on ext 5430

Or leave your details with a member of staff at Jubilee House reception.

Watch that thief!

There have been several incidents of pensioners having their shopping bags snatched after returning from the shops or collecting their pensions from Madeley post office. Please make sure you put your purse into your bag in the shop and not outside in view of the public – where a potential thief may see that you have just collected your pension. Be aware of people standing around and watching your movements. If you are aware of anyone watching or following you, go into the nearest shop and phone the police.

We are continually having problems with youths, both on Sutton Hill and Woodside estates. Parents – Do you know where your children are tonight? PC Lambert
