rubbish

Did you know

that in most of North Telford there is a fortnightly recycling collection service, with cans, bottles, paper etc. being collected from homes? Despite promises made over the years there are no plans to extend this service to our area in the foreseeable future.

This seems particularly unfair

as the Madeley area has one of the highest percentages of households without access to a car, making it impossible for many residents to use the recycling centre on Halesfield or the paper and bottle banks in Madeley.

The Borough of Telford and Wrekin

has consistently scored below the national average for recycling, which is eventually going to mean the Granville land fill site will become full and unusable much sooner, then we will then all pay for the council’s lack of urgency in dealing with the problem.

and more...

We at the Parish

have offered to support the Borough in local recycling, even running a pilot scheme in Westbourne, Woodside.
