Do you think British cooking is under-rated? Have you any of your grandmothers or mothers recipes that you would like to share or cook again with other people? Or do you just want to socialise with like-minded people and enjoy a chat over a cup of coffee. If the answer is yes, the British Cuisine Over 50s Club could be the answer for you.
The group was formed, following a Help The Aged Millennium Award, by Jay and Marla Ali-Khan. Jay is a very experienced chef who has worked all over the world in some of the best hotels and for top companies like Marks and Spencers. He now wants to work with local people to revive traditional British cuisine. I believe that the British cuisine is extremely under-rated. There is a lot of knowledge out there, which will get lost if we dont do something about it. I want to revive those meals, cook them and even, perhaps, get them printed.
The group is presently meeting once a fortnight at 11am at the Parkside Centre, Holyhead Road, Ketley and both Marla and Jay would love to see new members. Everything is free and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly.
