West 2 Scheme progress

The remodelling work in the West 2 area has been on site for 12 months. In some streets the work is nearing completion.

Here are images of the new general store in Warrensway, which is due to open in June, and of part of the Valley, where new footpaths are being formed.

Work starts on Extra Care Scheme

A new building is starting to take shape in the centre of Woodside. Wrekin Housing Trust’s Extra Care Scheme, containing 53 properties, will provide high quality accommodation for older people. It is due to be completed in early 2009. (See right)

Bellway Homes secure planning consent

On 19th March, Bellway Homes secured planning consent for 191 properties on the site where the Courts once stood. The scheme submitted by Bellway was amended to take into account a number of comments received from residents and planning officers following an exhibition of proposals in October 2007.

Woodside Notice Board: Project Office Evening Surgeries

The Woodside Project Office, on the ground floor of the Park Lane Centre, opens until 7pm once a month. These evening surgeries will provide residents with an opportunity to discuss specific issues that concern them, with an opportunity to do this outside normal working hours. Your local police officer and members of staff from the Project Office and the Regeneration Team will be available.

The surgeries will generally be on the first Wednesday of every month. If you wish to speak privately with a member of staff, or wish to make a specific appointment between 5pm and 7pm, please ring (01952) 588886. Of course the Woodside Project Office is also open between Monday and Friday during normal office hours if this is more convenient for you.

All these meetings take place at the Park Lane Centre.

Project Office surgeries, Wednesdays, 5pm – 7pm: 5th June, 2nd July

Woodside Forum (public meeting for all Woodside residents, all at 6.30pm): Wednesday 21st May, 26th November.
